From Oxford KS: Help! We have an enormous shortage of face masks in nursing homes, clinics, and hospitals. CMS has given permission to make face masks. Attached is a pattern for the masks, using cotton fabric. If you can sew and would like to help then please use this pattern and drop off at Red Feather Boutique in Oxford. Please message me to arrange drop off. Lori Niceley will distribute the masks to the medical facilities. If you have fabric, thread, ect that you would like to donate, we welcome that as well. Thank you and please continue to keep the medical staff and their patients in your prayers
There are many different fabrics being used for masks. Higher thread counts are more effective than the standard 60x60 quilting cottons. However, some very high thread counts or particular non-woven interfacings are not suitable because they are not breathable. We are also seeing flannel being used as a lining to increase the filtering. Below are several of the many in-stock fabrics that could be used.

Flannels - for linings
Here is a list of fusibles that are also prefered from what we have heard from the medical community.
There is also a good pattern available through Deaconess Hospitals.
