Vintage Doilies Lace Quilt - two day class at Beehive Quilt Shop

Fabric Requirements are:

Small Quilt - 9 Fat Quarters

Small Quilt Block Size is closer to wide 18" Blocks 

3 Yards of Sashing for the led glass/sashing pieces and border

**Eileen made small quilt because she had small doilies

Large Quilt (Dana's Something Blue Quilt) - 9, 3/4yard Cuts 

Large Quilt Blocks are 26" x 23" finished which is why you need 3/4yards of 9 materials for cutting instructions 

4.5 Yards of Sashing for the led glass/sashing pieces and border

**Dana chose this size because she had big doilies 

Includes two days of instructions, all meals are on your own. 

Pattern is $5 to purchase in person from Eileen (Currently we are requesting to get more copies of this pattern if we can sell them to others outside of the class.

-Open Toe Foot

-Coordinating thread to base the doilies onto quilt blocks (Dana used a light grey Dove 2600 color from Aurifil)

-Invisible Thread (Optional)

-Rotary Cutter with new blade

Bring doilies pre-cleaned (Dana washed hers in the washing machine in a lingerie bag) - Could use Retro Clean or Soak.

Eilleen has prepared hers cleaned and starched (Half Terrial Magic/Half ) or Flatter 

**Can be pinned to dry on a foam board. Overnight pinned. 

Bring your sewing machine and standard supplies

Ironing Stations and Cutting Stations are at the retreat house.

Day 1 - Making the Quilt

Day 2 - Layout of Doilies and applique 

Can bring anywhere from 10 - 30 - 50 or as many doilies as you have on hand.

Doilies can be ripped, tattered or warn or with a hole - these doilies do not have to be perfect to be preserved and appliqued into this.

*If you want to purchase additional doilies, we recommend purchasing from thrift shops, estate sales, Faithful Remnants (Wichita)
