Learn the Basics of Fabric Cutting & Sewing Tools! Spend Labor Day weekend with us!

Not sure where to start with rulers, rotary cutters, and fabric cutting? This class is for you! You’ll learn the basics of cutting fabric accurately, how to read and use different types of rulers, and how to work with a variety of cutting tools.

And, of course, we’ll introduce you to one of our absolute favorites—the Stripology Ruler! And a tour of other great rulers you can use. 

Bring all your questions! Jan has taught hundreds of people how to sew and create quilts, bags, and so much more. Whether you’re brand new to sewing or just want to feel more confident using your tools, you’ll be in great hands.

Come on your own, sign up as a mother-daughter pair, or grab a friend or neighbor and learn together. We’d love to help you build confidence and learn the basics of sewing, quilting, rulers, and cutting tools!

Location: Beehive Brother Creative Center (Across the street from the shop). Park on the East Side of the street!

Supplies:
45mm Rotary Cutter with fresh blade
Rulers you have that you would like to lean more about (including stripology)

**NO sewing machine required for this class
**3 Cutting Stations are set up at the Retreat House

1) The Morning we will spend going over tools, asking questions, demonstrating rulers
2) Break for lunch at 11:30 or Noon
3) Finish by starting to cut a project, Jan can also demonstrate quarter inch piecing on a sewing machine and how to check.

No sewing machine is required for this class - but if you would like to try out a machine or Test Drive one of our Brother machines you may! 


Honeycrisp is a good beginner pattern coming up in October! You will be able to take this class and make a quilt!  Sign Up for this next class, Tuesday, October 27th.
